Full Stack Engineer, External Data Analytics

Location: Remote, EST work hours required

Type: Long term temporary contract

Pay Rate: $65 to $75 per hour, depending on experience

Level: Mid-level

About the Role

We are seeking a Full Stack Engineer to support the design, development, and reliability of enterprise analytics platforms used for mission-critical operational reporting, real-time telemetry, and post-event analytics.

This role is ideal for a hands-on engineer with strong AWS cloud experience, full stack development skills, and a background working with scalable data pipelines, event-driven architectures, APIs, and analytics dashboards. The engineer should be comfortable contributing across backend services, data platforms, front-end applications, automation, and observability.

The ideal candidate is technically curious, collaborative, self-driven, and able to communicate clearly with engineering, product, operations, and security stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Software Solutioning and Design
  • Develop a strong understanding of business processes and operational analytics needs
  • Collaborate with lead engineers and architects to evaluate feature requests and support sprint planning
  • Participate in peer code reviews and design reviews
  • Provide clear technical input on solution approach, tradeoffs, and effort
Design and Implementation
  • Build and enhance scalable enterprise analytics platforms
  • Develop cloud-native data architectures, telemetry pipelines, APIs, and reporting systems
  • Implement secure, scalable full stack solutions across backend services, data platforms, and front-end analytics applications
  • Support end-to-end data workflows including ingestion, transformation, service layers, and dashboards
  • Apply established architectural patterns, automation standards, and observability practices
  • Ensure systems are designed for scalability, data integrity, availability, and reliability
  • Integrate monitoring, telemetry, and operational readiness into platform components
  • Develop and maintain automated end-to-end and UI testing frameworks using Playwright
  • Support CI/CD integration for automated testing and deployment workflows
Technical Contribution and Engineering Excellence
  • Help solve complex technical problems and improve system design
  • Promote best practices in secure system design, automation, performance optimization, and resilient engineering
  • Continuously improve skills across AWS, data engineering, full stack development, and test automation
  • Collaborate with team members to strengthen development, testing, and reliability practices
  • Communicate technical approaches clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Team Operations and Collaboration
  • Partner with product, operations, QA, security, and engineering teams
  • Support readiness activities through testing, monitoring, and reliability efforts
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, documentation, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

  • 3 or more years of experience designing, building, and supporting scalable cloud-native applications, data pipelines, or analytics platforms
  • 1 or more years of experience developing modern front-end applications using TypeScript and React
  • Hands-on coding and scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, React.js, and Node.js
  • Strong knowledge of AWS cloud infrastructure and distributed systems
  • Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, SNS, SQS, S3, Step Functions, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, and DynamoDB
  • Experience building APIs and data processing systems using backend technologies such as Node.js, preferably TypeScript, and Python
  • Experience with data ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines
  • Experience building responsive, secure, and high-performance user interfaces using TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiarity with asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures
  • Understanding of data modeling and transformation using AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Athena, and S3
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks, especially Playwright for end-to-end and UI testing
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CDK, CloudFormation, Terraform, or AWS CLI
  • Strong focus on scalability, data integrity, reliability, and quality engineering practices
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize and execute work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Backstage, LaunchDarkly, or GitHub Actions
  • Experience with monitoring and analytics tools such as Grafana, InfluxDB, or similar tools
  • Experience with cloud data stores and query engines such as Amazon Redshift, Athena, DynamoDB, Apache Iceberg, and S3-based data lakes
  • Familiarity with ML lifecycle concepts and related tools
  • Experience with real-time stream processing and Complex Event Processing using Apache Flink or similar technologies
  • Understanding of data isolation, performance segmentation, and secure access in distributed systems
  • Familiarity with observability and operational strategies in distributed architectures
  • Experience integrating Playwright or similar automated testing frameworks into CI/CD pipelines
