Builders Tradesman Insurance Services (BTIS) is nationwide insurance wholesaler focused on servicing Enterprises of all sizes with commercial insurance products.

The CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE I is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our network of agents. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: answering heavy call volume on phone queue, providing standard information, completing forms within guidelines and meeting or exceeding department metrics for call handling and quality.

Must be able to work Pacific Time Zone, 8AM - 5PM

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

  • Handles a high volume of inbound phone calls and chats; responds to and resolves customer issues in a timely fashion.

  • Assists consumers by providing highest level of customer service; remains professional and polite at all times.

  • Attends to clients’ needs by producing certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items.

  • Supports team goals by performing other related duties and special projects as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Prior customer service experience preferred; experience in a call center environment is a plus.

  • Post-secondary education preferred.

  • Experience working in an office or customer-focused environment preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Positive attitude, strong integrity, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service.

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment with strong self-motivation, organization, and time management skills.

  • Ability to troubleshoot basic equipment and connectivity issues, including headset, internet, and system access.

  • Strong computer and data entry skills, with the ability to learn and navigate software and web-based applications.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, operate dual monitors, and maintain accuracy while completing tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures and instructions.

  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply information effectively.

  • Understanding of department performance metrics related to call handling and quality preferred.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes, systems, and responsibilities.
