This position is a hybrid in-office role that works out of our Headquarters in Boston, MA (this role is not a virtual / remote position). 4 days in office / 1 day WFH.

Overview

The Wayfair Global Financial Operations organization is growing and looking to add a Compliance Associate to the Boston-based Financial Operations team. The associate will support financial compliance initiatives by executing audit support activities, performing financial analysis, maintaining documentation, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong organizational and planning skills, is highly motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, self-motivated, and possesses a customer-oriented mindset with a high sense of urgency and strong problem-solving abilities.

The Global Financial Operations team supports and manages critical financial processes across the organization. This team serves as a Finance service center for employees, suppliers, vendors, Legal, Treasury, Accounting, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional business partners. In addition to supporting audit compliance initiatives, this role will assist the Order-to-Cash (O2C) team with operational escalations and provide support across Financial Operations as business needs require.




Key Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:Compliance & Audit Support
  • Analyze financial data and supporting documentation to assist with regulatory and audit compliance initiatives.

  • Review historical financial transactions and validate supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.

  • Prepare, organize, and maintain audit documentation and supporting evidence for internal and external audit requests.

  • Partner with Accounting, Treasury, Legal, Internal Audit, and other cross-functional teams to support compliance activities.

  • Coordinate documentation requests and track audit deliverables to ensure timely completion.

  • Perform financial reconciliations and transaction analysis to support compliance initiatives.

  • Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, documentation standards, and operational efficiency.

  • Support process automation and standardization initiatives that strengthen compliance and reduce operational risk.

  • Maintain process documentation and recommend continuous process improvements.

Financial Operations Support
  • Support Order-to-Cash operational escalations.

  • Assist with customer account inquiries, payment discrepancies, and order hold escalations as needed.

  • Support miscellaneous Accounts Payable and Financial Operations activities based on business priorities.

  • Prepare standard reports, analyses, and reconciliations.

  • Follow established financial controls and approval workflows.

  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance to resolve operational issues while maintaining a high level of customer service.

  • Act as a point of contact for routine operational inquiries and escalate issues as appropriate.




Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field.

  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in Financial Operations, Accounting, Compliance, Audit Support, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or related finance functions.

  • Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Intermediate to advanced experience with Excel or Google Sheets; SQL or Google BigQuery experience is preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational and project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in Google Enterprise Suite tools (Calendar, Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Meet).
