The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software Solutions Architect to join the Air Dominance, Air Proprietary 1 team located in Berkeley, MO. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. We\'re seeking a highly talented, motivated, and creative individual to lead and support the existing capabilities of an agile software program in the Phantom Works organization. Architect Cloud Solutions: Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based architectures (Amazon Web Services or Azure) that align with business objectives and enhance operational capabilities. Lead the migration from on-premises to cloud-based solutions. DevOps Strategy Development: Lead the development of a comprehensive DevOps strategy, including CI/CD pipelines, automation, and monitoring solutions to streamline software delivery and improve deployment frequency. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and product management, to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables. Utilize industrial engineering principles to analyze existing systems and processes, identifying areas for optimization and waste reduction to improve overall efficiency. Define, collect, analyze, and refine Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for software delivery and team execution to ensure continuous improvement and accountability Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Lead the effort to develop and document best practices and methodologies for software development, deployment, and operations to ensure consistency and quality across the organization Leads efforts to continuously drive solutions to answer the question \"How do we operationally field higher quality end-to-end system software more frequently?\" Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements, present architectural designs, and provide updates on project progress. Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in cloud computing and DevOps, and apply this knowledge to enhance our solutions. We work in a casual but professional environment with multi-disciplined teams of engineers that take pride in developing, integrating, testing and delivering innovative solutions. 5+ years of experience in software architecture, with a focus on cloud-based solutions and DevOps practices ~10 years of experience leading software team and/or projects ~10 years of experience in automated provisioning and configuring of software-defined infrastructure and designing for continuous deployment and continuous operations ~ Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Experience in industrial engineering or process optimization is highly desirable Experience with AWS or Azure GovCloud Travel: Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.
