This role leads the commissioning of new equipment, performs preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on a wide voltage range (24 VDC – 12.5 KVAC), and drives continuous improvement through robust documentation and data‑driven decisions. With recent NFPA 70B updates elevating many best‑practice recommendations to mandatory standards, the technician's expertise directly safeguards production output, equipment availability, and plant profitability.<br><br><strong>Role And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><strong>Here’s What You’ll Be Responsible For:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Support commissioning of new electrical equipment. Verify installations meet NEC, SAS and industry specifications. </li><li>Complete all QA/QC checks on schedule to ensure safe, reliable integration and avoid costly re-Work.</li><li>Perform preventive maintenance and rapid troubleshooting on relay controls, Variable Frequency drives, electrical panels, and motor control centers. With equipment ranging from 24VDC to 12.5KVAC reducing MTTR and boosting overall equipment effectiveness. </li><li>Create and author comprehensive policies, SOPs and operational guidelines that standardize maintenance and operational practices.</li><li>Support installation schedules, coordinate with contractors and track progress via CMMS ensuring retrofits, upgrades and new builds stay on-budget and on-time.</li><li>Train technicians and collaborate with engineers, management and customers on newly installed infrastructure.</li><li>Use CCMS for maintenance tracking and inventory control by logging repairs, PMs. Enable data driven decision-making to support the FABs reliability targets.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Skills And Qualifications<br><br></strong><strong>Here's what you'll need:<br><br></strong><ul><li>Education & Experience – Minimum 2 years working with electrical systems, motor control circuits or automation equipment; a high school diploma/GED is required, while a technical school diploma, associate degree, or industrial maintenance background is strongly preferred.</li><li>NEC Expertise – Proven proficiency in NEC through maintenance or electrical projects.</li><li>CMMS Proficiency – Ability to navigate a Computerized Maintenance Management System to log repairs, manage parts inventory, and schedule preventive maintenance tasks.</li><li>Hands on Electrical Skills – Practical experience with wiring, relay controls, and motor control centers, ensuring safe and reliable equipment operation.</li><li>Problem Solving Mindset – Demonstrated track record of diagnosing and resolving complex electrical/automation issues with minimal downtime.<br><br><br></li></ul><strong>Total Rewards<br><br></strong>At Samsung Austin Semiconductor, base pay is just one part of our total compensation package.
